COURSE DESCRIPTION The PCOC makes sure you have immediate navigation and safety skills but it’s just the beginning of what you should know when you get on a boat. The Boating 2 course introduces you the art of navigation, global positioning and paper charts, aids to navigation, electronic navigation, anchoring, “need to know” knots, moving a boat under power, understanding a weather forecast and a number of optional topics including; tides & currents, canals & locks, and Collision Regulations, towing, trailering, and check-lists for layup and launch. ONLINE DELIVERY APPROACH
ThIs online
course consists of seven weekly instructor-facilitated group sessions
and up to three one-on-one personal support with a CPS-ECP tutor.
Course material
includes a paper copy or electronic course manual, a training chart
and handy reference material.
All lessons are
in video format which are available 24/7. During the online sessions the course material “lesson” is reviewed, student questions are answered, and challenge questions are posed to by the instructor ensure the key points of the lesson is understood. |
